Carry out cooperation with countries along "the Belt and Road" in the field of water resources

Response to the national "The Belt and Road " initiative, give full play to the features and advantages of Hohai University, focus on national water security and regional sustainable development, combined with "double top" water conservancy construction, and carry out international cooperation with countries along the "The Belt and Road" in water conservancy engineering development, talent training and cultural exchanges, etc.

1. Set up "The Belt and Road" water strategic alliance

Joined with more than 40 domestic and foreign enterprises, institutions, universities and research institutes from China, the United States, Canada, Australia, Pakistan, Laos, Cambodia, etc., to jointly build a collaborative platform of government, industry, education and research for serving the "the Belt and Road" strategy.

2. Hold "The Belt And Road" Highe-nd Forum on Water and Sustainable Development

Water Security and Sustainable Development (WSS) series of high-end development strategy forums were held. More than 400 academicians and scholars from home and abroad to discuss the strategic needs of water security in a changing environment and international water science frontier issues.

3. Launch the "The Belt and Road" Water and Sustainable Development Fund

In 2017, the "Tne Belt and Road" Water and Sustainable Development Fund was set up to fund basic re- search and applied basic research projects with scientific value and application prospec ts, and to promote emerging interdisciplinary and scientific research cooperation.

4. Establishment of the World Water Valley Research Institute, the Laos Center and the West Africa Center

Committed to close cooperation with local universities to carry out substantive cooperation in personnel training and scientific research, to serve the expansion of Chinese enterprises in the engineering market of "Tne Belt And Road" countries, and to cultivate localized talents who know China and are friendly to China.
